Ms. Permalino

My name is Evangeline M. Permalino, but my students call me Ms. P.  I graduated from De La Salle University and completed my Education Specialist credential from Sonoma State and Sacramento State Universities.  This will be my 29th year teaching special education.  Prior to moving here in the United States in 2001, I had the privilege  to work as a special education teacher  and program coordinator mentoring other teachers. I piloted the Inclusion Program for High-Functioning students with Autism in 2005 at Wilson Elementary School in Richmond and managed the class for 12 years. I moved to Willow Cove Elementary School in Pittsburg, CA in 2017 as an Autism teacher for grades 2 and 3. I decided to come back to WCCUSD a year after, and upon my return, I was fortunately assigned to Riverside Elementary school as a preschool teacher for children with Autism. I am truly  honored to be a part of the RES family and hope to stay until I retire.

On a personal note, I am happily married and a mother to 3 fur babies- Hiccup, Olaf, and Tangled. I love watching movies and sometimes eating out to end my work week.  On weekends, my husband and I usually tend  to our backyard as he has successfully grown a multitude of fruit bearing trees. Some of my favorites are chips, dark chocolates, scented candles, and singing. Currently, I am into K-Dramas (Korean television series) and loving it!
