  • Conditioning Begins now

Pinole Valley is poised to be the Wrestling capital of the District and we are looking to reload for the 2024-25 school year. One of the things we love about the sport is that it fits all types. Any size, any shape, any gender, there is a match for you, and coach Armando is the best. A true ambassador to the activity. Meanwhile we have girls volleyball getting ready for their season with conditioning in the gym Tuesday while boys basketball starts their climb back with track time today and gym time on Thursday. Look and listen for more all season long

  • Lumachi Scholarship Deadline Approaches

The most important scholarship of the year is coming due. The Shaun Lumachi award goes to the senior who has achieved in the classroom and the school building too. Carrying a strong GPA and having a passion for good citizenship is the first step in competing for this award. The Lumachi family has endowed the school with this grant, and we are rooting for the senior that best exemplifies the characteristics of Shaun's own life. We are looking forward to the award winner being crowned on May 21 on Senior Night. We all win when we do our Lumachi best

  • Character Counts

We love working with our service clubs to serve our community. And then there are evenings like this one where we get honored right back. Join the celebration in our black box theater as we recognize the "good characters" in our schools. This is the first of a number of 'award's nights, and one of the most special as we highlight kids who day after day, do the right things

  • Make Mine Music

The month ahead started with a great show with Piano Recital night in the choir room. Seven of our keyboard players put on a show for the community amongst them, an original compositon as well. This same night featured our jazz band playing at the District show in El Cerrito which leads to this week's band competition event in Folsom, then it is a bunch of peformances from choir and band, some on campus, but many are on the road, like this weekend's Choir festival in Santa Cruz and our band's championships in Folsom. Some like our Day on the Green outdoors in the city. One way or the other, look forward to music (oh, music Friday in the Quad) every week from now til year's end.

  • Choose your Choice

Leadership does it all. Everything from running rallies, dances and club weeks to creating flyers like the ones you see above. This Wednesday, we urge all Pinole Valley students to make their way to the school library to exercise the right to choose your leaders. The next year of Pinole Valley life depends on your decision. No pressure! Thanks for exercising your fundamental rights to make our school your school!

  • Spartans Build Bridges

We have two teams of Spartan Bridge builders going to UC Berkeley this Weekend and we could not be more proud. The Goldfish bridge team of Navdeep, Isabel, Stephanie and Humbert as well as the Apollo bridge team of Nicholas, Zayan, Noah and Olivia. Great work and on display and open to the public to see if they can do the job right while adding style and panache to the work. We will be at Stanley Hall to celebrate our builders. Next week the Spartan engineering team goes to the Robotics finals and will test their creations against Bay Area schools. We love the chance to compete and bond with bridges and robots from all over

  • Faith Parsons : Artist of the Day

This German expressionist/ Cubist inspired portrait by Faith Parsons employs heavy lines and bold shapes to create mood and tension. Faith is one of a handful of Senior artists who have been making art for their four years on campus, and has done another stellar piece and this is just another highlight in a high school career full of bright moments. Credit to Mr. Hersh's class where the students find the inspiration and talent to create such fine works

  • Baseball makes Senior Day a Celebration

With a 10-0 win over El Cerrito, the Spartans clinch top spot in the TCAL and now try to finish the regular season the same way they started it--perfectly. The girls are ranked #2 in the Bay Area and hope to continue their winning ways deep into the post season. Come out next Saturday to the home field to see the senior girls put a bow on what has been a season to remember, a number of heroes yesterday including pitcher Junior Malan who went the distance to give the Spartans a perfect 6-0 start in league and a near certain berth in the North Coast Section playoffs the week after the regular season ends..
