Hello! My name is Laura Bohigas and I am very excited to be part of this incredible Virtual Academy where students are at the center. I love working and teaching virtually because it allows me to have closer relationships with my students, and they can learn at their own pace using the strategies that best fit them. 

I’ve been a Kindergarten and first grade teacher at WCCUSD for 20 years. My expertise is English Language Development as well as early literacy, and I know how to help students become proficient readers and writers.

I spent 9 years working in the Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion program at Washington Elementary where in addition to early literacy, I taught second language acquisition. I was also the technology lead teacher and a mentor for new teachers in the induction program.

I grew up in Barcelona and I graduated from the University of Barcelona in 1997. I can speak fluent Spanish and Catalan and I know the basics of four other languages.

My passions include traveling and spending time in nature with my dogs.

I feel honored to be part of the Vista Virtual Academy community.
