Ms. Chang
Hi, my name is Ashley Chang and this is my 24th year of teaching. I earned my B.A. in English from UC, Irvine. Then I went to Cal State Fullerton for my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD. I earned my Masters in Education from National University.
I have spent my career teaching Kindergarten - 6th grade. I am G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education) certified and taught 3rd-5th at a Magnet school for gifted students for 13 years. Next, I helped open a new elementary school where I taught newcomers from different countries within my classroom. After that, I worked at a Title 1 school with identified SPED students in my general ed class. I have also taught at a Mandarin Dual Language Immersion school in a different district. Once at WCCUSD, I started out teaching at Washington Elementary in the Dual Language Immersion program. I am now honored to be one of the founding Supervising Teachers at Vista K12 Virtual Academy since it opened in 2021.
I am a Google Certified Educator and have been trained in Lindamood Bell programs (Seeing Stars and Visualizing & Verbalizing). I love to do digital work for the school (help run social media and the school website). I am also the Elementary Enrollment specialist at our school; so I help new families join our amazing school!
I have been married for many years, have 2 beautiful children, and rescued a sweet senior dog & a mischievous cat.
