Information Technology Academy
Hello parents, students and community members! The De Anza Tech Academy is going into its sixth year at our school and we are excited to continue providing service and opportunities to our students. Our Academy is designed for students interested in Technology, Arts and Media. Students go through 3 years of our Academy, starting their sophomore year. Every class that students have is geared towards technology and arts. The Academy allows for teachers to collaborate and meet together to create projects that go beyond the classroom. We receive specialized funding from California to provide our students with study hours, field trips, guest speakers and partnerships with community and business members.
The Academy is designed to cater to students heading off to college and for students who are pursuing a career right out of high school. Students receive hands on experience and real world practice in our computer labs. Students also host events to showcase their skills to the community such as out "Free Fix Days". Students will be designing websites and learning how to promote and create items using the internet. Students will work on learning computer management and networking. We are also a Cisco Networking Academy, allowing students to prepare themselves to become Cisco Certified Entry Level Network Technicians (CCENT). Students also learn Web Design skills such as HTML, CSS and Javascript Languages
The goal of our Academy is to make sure our students have skills necessary to take on a career in Technology, Media and Arts. In the past 5 years, while unemployment has risen in California, Information Technology jobs have expanded 28%. It's a growing market that our students need to become a part of. I am excited for this upcoming year and we are always looking for parent, student and community help in the Academy. Feel free to contact me via email; bgill@茄子视频
