A California Network in the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards serving teachers who work in Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, Hercules, Kensington, El Sobrante and Pinole.
Our goal is to ensure that every child in the West Contra Costa Unified School District has access to an accomplished teacher. We support teachers as they become more intentional, more reflective and more energized by going through the National Board process.
We help candidates elevate how they think about their teaching practice and communicate their effectiveness as related to the standards of accomplished teaching.

Many teachers describe the process as the best professional development they have ever had. It is based on your teaching, in your certification area, in your classroom, at this point in time. Although National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) facilitate you on your journey, the process and effort is yours and yours alone. It is the ultimate in individualized learning for teachers. Teachers around the country can compare their teaching practice to their peers on a National Level.
