Hello Bayview Families, and Community Partners,
I hope that you and your family are having an enjoyable summer.
Thank you for being an intricate part of this amazing learning community. Your commitment, passion, and dedication to your children's success in education is very much appreciated, and we are looking forward to continuing the work with you and our scholars.
First Day of School
Back to school is right around the corner, and our teachers and staff have been busy getting things ready for the first day of school.
The first day of school will be Tuesday August 15th. This will be a minimum day for students where students in grades TK - 3rd will be dismissed at 1:45, and students in grades 4th - 6th will be dismissed at 2:05.
We will follow the same schedule on Wednesday August 16th, which is our normal modified schedule.
As a reminder, if students are not participating in the afterschool program, please be sure to pick up your child/children on time.
We will begin our day by having students enter through our Multi-purpose room at 8 am, where students will have 1st chance breakfast.
The Multi-purpose doors will close precisely at 8:15, and the gate to the entry of the school will open so that students may enter through the front of the school.
At this time students will enter the cafeteria, and wait there until 8:20. Students will then proceed to the black top ( primary yard ) where they’ll stand on their designated class number.
Teachers will be waiting with signs that display their name, room number and grade level for students.
It is important that students are on time, and ready to start instruction at 8:30 am.
We understand the importance of Social and Emotional Learning therefore, we ask that students are at school on time to partake in Social Emotional Learning at the start of each day.
Research has shown that participation in "Social Emotional skills increases student engagement, and leads to improving academic performance".
This year's competencies of focus will be Self- Awareness, and Self - Management.
Please continue to help your children build these skills in each of these areas.
Cell phones
Important reminder.
Students are to adhere to the district policy on cell phones. If students bring cell phones, they are not to be seen or heard. First time will be a warning, second time phones will be given to the office for students to pick up at the end of the day from the Principal or Vice Principal. Third warning, parents are to pick up their children's cell phones from admin.
Student Placement
The placement of our students are of the utmost importance to us. Each year our team takes time to make sure we are placing our students in the best class that fits their learning modality and social emotional learning needs.
Parent Volunteers!
If you are interested in volunteering at our school, please be sure to fill out the “Be A Mentor” form on our district website.
Ice Cream Social
Thank you to all the families that attended our Ice Cream social on Wednesday. It was wonderful seeing you and how tall some of our scholars have already grown!
Finally, a huge appreciation to all that has continued to help us prepare for our new school year at Bayview. Your continuous dedication of assuring that all students at Bayview are set up for success is greatly appreciated.I am looking forward to welcoming our scholars and greeting you as you drop your students off. Please don't hesitate to stop by and say hello.
It is both a privilege and honor to continue to serve as your child's principal.
I am looking forward to continuing the work with all stakeholders to make this year productive in both academics, and student's social and emotional learning.
In Partnership,
