Welcome to Grant's Digital Backpack!
Dear Grant Community,
We are excited to be back to school with the opportunity to work with our scholars. As you know we will begin our school year with distance learning. This means students will be learning from home using online platforms.
School begins Monday August 17. Daily schedule is as follows from 10:00-10:25 teachers will take attendance and check in with students. All students are expected to attend this session every day. Following homeroom, there will be 45 minute blocks of time that teachers will use to teach reading, writing, or math followed by lunch.
After lunch there is one more 45 minute block of time for the teaching of the remaining subject. At 1:35, ELD students will meet with the teacher for English Language Development and the remaining students will have a synchronous work to complete.
From 2:05-3:00 teachers have office hours they will work with small groups of students on targeted skills. Across the district, Friday's are called wellness Friday, teachers will meet their students at 10 am.
We will be using ClassDojo as our means of school communication as we have found it to be the most secure and reliable format. Please make sure you update your email and phone numbers in PowerSchool. It is important that we have two way communication between the home and school we are really looking forward to a fabulous year.
