• The full inclusion program at Michelle Obama School is designed to support students who have a diagnosis on the autism spectrum and whose academic needs are met within the general education classroom with minimal to moderate supports. In a full inclusion program one or several children with disabilities attend class for most of each day in the general education classroom. They belong to that classroom and are counted in the maximum number of students allowed. They are expected to participate in class discussions and team projects with the encouragement of the general education teacher and possibly with the assistance of an aide. They do the academic work assigned to the class as appropriate. An aide may be assigned to assist the student(s) with social interactions and classroom expectations.
