We invite all West Contra Costa County Unified School District (WCCCUSD) high school seniors to participate in the 2025 Chevron Richmond Black History Awareness Committee Scholarship Program.
Since 2004, the Chevron Richmond Black Employee Network (BEN) has awarded over 65 scholarships to deserving high school students from the WCCUSD. Funding for the scholarships is provided by the Richmond Refinery’s Public Affairs department in partnership with the Chevron Richmond Black History Awareness Committee (BHAC). The scholarship is awarded in honor of Dr. William F. King. Dr. King is a distinguished African American Chemical Engineer who retired from Chevron in 2003. He also served as a Chevron recruiter, mentor, and community activist.
The 2025 Scholarship application period is open from October 15 through January 15, 2025.
All requested scholarship applicant information must be received by email on or before January 15, 2025
Applicant information that is incomplete or not received by email will not be considered.
Note: Scholarship recipients are not eligible to receive more than one Chevron diversity-sponsored scholarship. If a student receives an athletic scholarship, regretfully he/she is not eligible to participate in the Chevron scholarship program. Students with parents who are Chevron employees or contractors are not eligible to apply.
