Advanced Band

    Weekly Agenda: 
  • This is an advanced course, designed to challenge students with previous concert band experience and help them hone their instrumental skills. We will explore advanced band repertoire in various styles and work on developing tone, technique, artistry, and dynamics. Students will also learn about music theory, music history, and sight-reading through their repertoire. Students will prepare pieces for virtual performances while working as an ensemble to create a group tone quality and balance between sections. Through this work, we will build a community of respect and musical integrity where all participants are included and valued. Participation in this ensemble requires an audition, and it is highly recommended students sign up for beginning band if they are new to concert band music.
